Pastoral care touches on intimate matters. That's why Domo lets you decide who can see each note, with two clear levels.
The two levels
- Team — seen by everyone with access to pastoral care (pastors, residents and staff with permission). Use it for what the team can share.
- Restricted — seen by pastors only. Use it for the most sensitive things (a delicate counseling session, a discipline case).
In both cases, whoever wrote the note can always see it, even if it's restricted.
Who sees what, specifically
- The Pastor sees all notes: Team and Restricted. They can also moderate (edit or delete) others'.
- The Resident sees Team notes and the ones they created. They do not see others' restricted notes.
Choosing a note's level
When a pastor writes a note, they can choose its visibility: by type, Team or Restricted.
Some types are delicate by nature: counseling and discipline notes start as restricted automatically when a pastor creates them. You can always adjust it if needed.
Who decides which types start restricted? That's set in the note types, inside Catalogs. Each type can be marked as "confidential by default".
The golden rule
When in doubt, choose the more careful level. It's easier to share a restricted note later than to win back trust if something delicate was seen by too many.
